Counselling

A space to be heard.
A path to heal.

Sometimes the weight we carry isn't something we can simply think our way through. Counselling offers a confidential, compassionate space to process what's difficult — and to find your way forward.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a professional, therapeutic relationship designed to help you navigate emotional pain, relational challenges, grief, anxiety, trauma, and the deeper questions of meaning and identity.

Unlike coaching, which focuses primarily on goals and forward momentum, counselling makes room for what's underneath — the unresolved, the unspoken, and the unhealed. It honours the full complexity of being human.

At Leading Yourself, counselling is offered with warmth, clinical grounding, and a deep respect for your story. You don't have to have it figured out to begin.

"You don't have to have it figured out to begin."

How I work

An integrative, person-centred approach

No two people are the same, and no single method fits every situation. My approach draws from several evidence-based frameworks, always guided by what serves you best.

Person-Centred

You are the expert on your own life. I follow your lead, creating conditions of genuine acceptance, empathy, and authenticity where growth becomes possible.

Narrative Therapy

The stories we tell about ourselves shape how we live. Together we examine those stories — separating you from the problem and reauthoring a more life-giving narrative.

Emotionally Focused

Emotions are not obstacles — they are information. We work with your emotional experience rather than around it, building insight and regulation from the inside out.

Trauma-Informed

All counselling is offered through a trauma-informed lens — recognizing how past experiences shape present responses, and moving at a pace that feels safe for you.

Getting started

What to expect

01

Reach out

Send a message through the contact form. There's no pressure — just a simple first step toward something different.

02

Initial conversation

We'll have a brief, no-obligation conversation to see if we're a good fit and to answer any questions you have about the process.

03

First session

Your first session is about getting to know each other. We'll explore what's brought you here and begin to map out what you're hoping for.

04

Ongoing work

Sessions are typically 50 minutes, held weekly or bi-weekly. The pace and focus are always shaped by what you need.

You don't have to carry this alone.

Reaching out is often the hardest part. If you're considering counselling, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you.
